After months of testing flatness measurement systems from Shapeline, Corus decided to install the equipment on a permanent at its IJmuiden Direct Sheet Plant, in The Netherlands. The system measures the edge profile of slabs at the exit of the continuous caster, to optimize caster settings to eliminate the risk of breakout from still molten core.
